That One Falling Star

Never before had I seen,
An actual star falling.
Drifting through the dark,
A view so appealing.

Why was it falling though,
The way it was falling.
Like it was responding,
To somebody’s true calling.

Or maybe it was stalling.
While it was befalling,
Upon me, the doom,
Of darkness, so beguiling.

But how will I know, if,
To me, it was calling.
Or am I supposed to,
Just trust its crackling.

Howsoever it was falling,
It was definitely not brawling.
Because I could see, in its eyes,
That it was totally smiling…

I don’t really know how,
But it was mind boggling.
With all its wiggling,
And teasing and baffling.

Anyway, I stopped watching,
In its traps, I am not falling.
However much it wants to,
Tempt me into dwelling.

Maybe another day again,
If I could see it falling.
I would totally fall for it,
But today I am bailing…
